Business Owner

Convenience Stores, Bars/Clubs, Restaurants and Gas Stations

Our server features a business ownership system, where you can purchase, manage, and profit from various businesses in the state. You are only allowed to own two stores per player, not character, Convenience store, Bar/Club, or Restaurant. You can also own one gas station per player, not character. If your convenience store also has a gas station, you can own both, or take on a partner own one while you own the other. Make sure you, as a player, do not own more than 1 gas station and 2 other “shops”. No exceptions!

Locations cost $10,000 and up to purchase. For businesses with an interior, there should be a red arrow marker near a computer in the office or possibly a cash register, depending on what we had to work with for that location. You press E there to buy the business. If it’s already owned, you’ll get a message to that effect on the screen and won’t be able to purchase it. All functions for your business are managed from this marker.

You can also hire employees for your business. How you run your business is up to you. You need to manage all aspects of it, including staff. EOLrp moderators/admins will only become involved if absolutely necessary.

When a business is unowned, it has unlimited stock levels in everything. Once you have purchased your business, you need to stock it up. All player owned business locations start out with absolutely zero stock. You can stock up your business by ordering and picking up products yourself, or creating delivery jobs for other players to take. You MUST have money in the shop ledger in order to place orders. Delivery jobs can will show up as available loads in the freight market for Big Rig drivers on their logistics computer at the various logistics centers. If they’re taken from big rig drivers, the load will be picked up at the docks and delivered to your shop from that location. It would be wise to price your deliveries to be comparable to others, distance and type, to encourage players to deliver to your store.

You can upgrade certain aspects of your store if you want to invest more money in those upgrades. For example, you can upgrade your inventory maximum, your truck size (more items per order/delivery), and your relationship with suppliers. You do NOT get any money back from selling your business, except your initial purchase price of $10,000. All other investments are lost, as well as any remaining inventory. If you plan to sell your shop, it is suggested that you export all of your inventory and withdraw all money from your business ledger.

You can set your own item/fuel prices within a min/max range. But keep in mind, players may go to another location if your products are over priced.

WARNING: Low inventory affects other players that may need things. If you allow your store, restaurant, or bar/club fall below 50% item selection variety or below 25% inventory stock, your business will automatically be considered abandoned after 14 days. It will then be repossessed by the city and be put back up for purchase by another player. You will see a warning in your shop control menu if you are below the minimums.

For gas stations, the repo happens after 7 days of having below 30% fuel stock level. You will see a warning in your station control menu if you are below the minimum.

There’s no re-imbursement for this if it happens to you, and there’s no way for us to exclude players that may be away for a while, regardless of reason. So make sure you either stock your places up well before vacations or have employees hired that will keep it going for you.
